Susan MacLaren
Owner, Communicator, Photographer, Maker I am quietly leading my own revolution, one client at a time. My top four tactics in this revolution are to provide content strategy, guidance, and communication support to small businesses and nonprofits; to empower women in business startup and success; to make change in my community through volunteering, and to hand make objects that are memorable and personable. Small Business and Non-profit I took a one-man landscaping company and helped him turn it into a thriving almost a-million-a-year industry with 8 employees by diversifying into design, installation, and education. I brought an aging non-profit into this century by providing strategy and business development ideas, creating a new website, providing regular member communications, investing in donor software, and creating more ways to receive memberships and revenue - bringing a core group of 50 members to a bustling 250 members in a year. Empowering Women in Business I’ve assisted women in setting up businesses in Washington State, and taught them how to financially plan and file taxes. I’ve assisted women in providing content strategy and development to keep their businesses on track. I have been an ear, an advice giver, and an advocate for other women business owners. Volunteering I use my skills, expertise, and free time to facilitate change in my community. I am particularly interested in health and human rights, the environment, and creativity. Hand Made Goods I turned my passion into photography into my own business creating cards, photography books, and other small photo based objects. I also provide photography for a marketing, branding, and environmental portraits. If you are a small business owner, a woman interested in pursuing her own business, a non-profit in need of assistance or photography, or a lover of hand made items, I would love to hear from you! |
